Brianna Gironda for Sanford School Committee

Strong Schools. Support Teachers. Transparency.

Welcome! I’m Brianna Gironda, and I’m running for the Sanford School Committee because I care deeply about our community and believe strong public schools are one of the best investments we can make in its future.

Sanford is a growing, economically and culturally diverse community. Every student deserves an accessible, high-quality education and a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of income, language, disability, culture, or family circumstances.

If elected, I will listen to students, families, educators, staff, and taxpayers. I will work collaboratively, communicate openly, and consider the educational, operational, and financial impact of every decision.

Vote Brianna Gironda for Sanford School Committee.

Meet Brianna

I am the parent of two Sanford students—one in pre-K and one in middle school. I’m also a former preschool teacher, an active community volunteer, and a third-year Sanford Middle School PTA member serving my second year as an officer. My professional background is in strategic operations and enterprise management. That experience has taught me how to bring people together, examine complex issues, establish clear priorities, improve systems, measure results, and make responsible use of limited resources.I understand that one committee member cannot manage the schools independently. The role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, establish responsible priorities, approve sound policies and budgets, and hold the district accountable for results. I believe my experience as a parent, educator, community volunteer, and strategic operations professional would bring a practical and valuable perspective to the School Committee.

My Committment to
Sanford's School Community

My priorities are centered on strong student outcomes, supported educators, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars:

  • Identify literacy and math struggles early and provide effective intervention.

  • Maintain and improve graduation rates through attendance support, student engagement, and career pathways.

  • Fairly compensate teachers and staff without continually adding to their workload.

  • Protect CTE, arts, music, athletics, advanced courses, student services, and other programs that keep students connected.

  • Support recess or protected movement time through middle school.

  • Make education accessible and responsive to Sanford’s economically and culturally diverse community.

  • Address aging facilities through preventive maintenance and responsible long-term planning.

  • Pursue grants, reimbursements, shared services, and cost-saving opportunities before placing additional burdens on taxpayers.

  • Provide clear public information about school performance, spending, facility needs, and major decisions.

Improving our schools does not always mean spending more, and saving money should not automatically mean cutting teachers or important programs. It means setting clear priorities, eliminating low-value work, coordinating resources, and making sure our investments produce meaningful results for students.
